My Question: And God's Answer
Write "HOLY" On Your Forehead
write "holy" on your forehead,
make this nation stop and think--
are we really just and righteous,
as holy as we think?
we write it on our foreheads,
not to boast but to promote
the love that glows inside us,
that Satan tried to smote
We do not think that we can be
as holy as the lamb
we only wish to strike the hearts
of all within the land
We hope to show them, hope they see
that we don't have to be
aimless sinners, wayward trav'lers,
who just do not see
We want to generate a pause:
a time to stop and think:
do I live the way I should?
and practice being meek?
We feel led to show without
the yearning that's within-
to be holy and blameless, perfectly white,
totally without sin.
We wish not to be misunderstood,
to be taken the wrong way;
we only wish to make some think:
and maybe even pray
For if one sees this and they see
love shining in our eyes
it just might make them stop and think,
or make them realize
that what truly matters, what we love,
is not a thing without.
But rather someone, pure and holy,
we could not live without.
They Say Love...
They say love can be bought: I say love is a gift.
They say love is just hormones: I say love is deeper, stronger than that.
They say love is like the wind: You can't see it; but you know it's there. I say you can see the love of Christ shining in people's eyes.
They say love is weak; I say it's the strongest thing in the world.
They say love is blind: I say love sees all faults, but still loves nonetheless.
They say love can be lost: I say true love cannot ever be lost; if it's lost, it was not love in the first place.
They say that no one can love unconditionally: I say Unconditional Love is the only kind.
They say love is proud, boasting: I say love is humble.
They say love is all about the physical stuff: I say love goes beyond anything physical.
I say They have never known true love; so who are They to say what love is??? we do not really know what love is until we have experienced the awesome, unconditional love that God has for us. He loves us so much that He gave His unly begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life. I pray that They learn what true love is, and are speechless in awe of the awesome god we serve. He is the LORD of all love, and no one can love more fully; more deeply than he does.
John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
1 Corinthians 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
Colossians 3:14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
1 Timothy 1:5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
1 Timothy 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
1 Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover
2 Peter 1:7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
Revelation 2:19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.
My Heart's Desire
There is a place of sure relief: a place where kindred dewll;
A place where all have firm belief in He who broke the spell.
I want to go to that great land; to see my Savior's face:
To see th'immortal angel band, in this, my Father's place.
I want to praise Him day by day; the one who died for me:
I want to worship: sing and pray; for all eternity.
I love the LORD with all my heart; He died on calvary:
He shields my soul from Satan's darts; He's ne'er forsaken me.
He gave his life; He died for me; that I might live with Him:
I'll ne'er forget His perfect love; I long to live with Him.
A Parting Hymn
I loved you so dearly
I can't believe you're gone.
I miss you so much now:
how can I go on?
I'll trust in Jesus
to lead my way
'Til we meet in Heaven
on that bright day
He'll be my comfort,
He'll guide all my days
'Til we meet in Heaven
I'll miss you always
But I know you're in a better place,
where you'll never hurt again;
I'll miss you every day,
until we meet again.
I'll think of you daily;
remember the good times.
I'll wonder "What if?"
and cry for me sometimes.
But someday soon we'll meet
in Heaven to part no more.
And we'll sing and shout His praises
on Heav'n's blissful shore.
You Weren't "The One" ~ Stephanie Barrington ~ 2008
another of my songs that I thought I'd share with y'all :D I wrote this after watching a tragic love story movie :) not from experience. it still needs quite a bit of work, but I think it's good enough to post :)
spoken:
The year was '03, I had just turned 18
When you gave me that rose, I thought you'd propose
But you were just lettin' me down easy, or so you thought,
But you just made it worse, than if you had not.
sung:
I thought you were The One, God had planned for me
I thought we'd be one, through all eternity
But God had other plans, He'd made from the start,
I thought I would die, When you broke my Heart,
But you weren't The One, God had planned for me
Back then, I was naive, But now, I plainly see,
That if you were The One, God had planned for me,
We'd be side-by-side, You next to me,
But you weren't The One, God had planned for me,
back then, I was naive, But now I plainly see,
That you weren't The One. MMM-MMM,
But you... Weren't The One.
Good Friends ~ Stephanie Barrington ~ 1-19-2008
Who understand me
Who always know when I'm down in despair
I've good friends
And when I see them... It's like a big family reunion...
I've got good friends... ooh-ooh,
I've got good friends
I've got good friends
Who really know me
They're always there when... I'm down and depressed
And they tell me...
It's not worth it... to be sad when there can be joy...
I've got good friends. ooh-ooh,
I've got good friends
